What is a Book Extravaganza?

BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA is a unique marketplace featuring a wide variety of bookish traders and local and indie authors, all under one roof! The BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA celebrates everything to do with the printed word and the art of storytelling! You'll find a vast range of traders, including vintage and pre-loved books, literary related crafts and merchandise, accessories and stationery. We also feature illustrators, comic creators and zines. Our indie authors cover a spectrum of genres including contemporary romance, crime and thrillers, horror and fantasy and real-life stories.

Who are we?

The BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA is organised by Rosie's Retro Bazaar and Fantom Publishing. Both companies are spearheaded by company director, Dexter O'Neill, with a background of over 20 years as a publisher and a vast experience of organising conferences and events. He is bringing together both his passions in these vibrant and unique book events. The BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA was established in April 2024 and now in 2026 has events in six locations across central England.

Why come to a BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA event?

The BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA provides a unique shop front displaying exciting and distinctive titles which you will not find on the high street. But the BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA isn't just about the books! It's about the experience and joy of reading, story telling and art. It allows you to immerse yourself in an exciting literary world of endless tales and real life adventures! 

The BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA is, at it's heart, all about community. You can meet and talk directly with authors (and get that all important signed copy!), artists, makers and other attendees. There is such an array of titles and merch - there is literally something for everyone of all ages!

How can I join in?

Anyone can apply to be an author or trader at a BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA. It is important to us that all genres are included and any items related to the literary world are welcome! You can find out more on how to apply on our Authors and Traders page.

Are the BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA events accessible for everyone?

All venues are chosen with inclusivity in mind. Every location has full disability access with disabled parking, ramps and lifts where required. If you have any specific question about your needs before you attend, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to help. 

Do I need a ticket to attend a BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA?

The majority of BOOK EXTRAVAGANZA events are free to attend. We ask attendees to register in advance, however, you can just turn up on the day. For specific information about a particular event, please see the appropriate event page on our website.

Do all traders accept card payments?

The majority of stalls will be able to accept card payments, however it's best to come prepared. The area has many cash machines if required.
