About the event
Philip Larkin wakes from a dream. He had fallen asleep whilst reading and on waking muses on his childhood and formative years in Coventry. The floor is littered with books each of which holds a memory that brings both joy and pain. He concludes, as he finishes tidying the room, that home is so sad ending with a recitation of the poem by that title. A short monologue
